Happy Easter!
This week I decided to try a trend I've been seeing around lately. ChatGPT is an online AI that has had lots of debate about its ethics. For a fun experiment, I asked it to create a crochet pattern and I tested it out to see how good it really is.I wanted to start off with something easy so I asked it to design me a crochet frog pattern.
The pattern is listed at the bottom of this page.
The body was a simple circle and the legs were, well, interesting. There were no instructions on how to pin them on so I placed them how I thought would look the best.
Level: Beginner
Time: 2-4 hours
Green yarn
White yarn
Black yarn
Crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Chain 2 and work 6 single crochet stitches (sc) in the second chain from hook.
Increase in each stitch around (12).
Sc, increase around (18).
Sc 2, increase around (24).
Sc 3, increase around (30).
Sc 4, increase around (36).
Sc 5, increase around (42).
Sc around for 8 rounds.
Sc 5, decrease around (36).
Sc 4, decrease around (30).
Sc 3, decrease around (24).
Sc 2, decrease around (18).
Stuff the body with fiberfill.
Sc, decrease around (12).
Decrease around until the hole is closed and fasten off.
Limbs (make 4):
Chain 2 and work 6 sc in the second chain from hook.
Increase in each stitch around (12).
Sc around for 4 rounds.
Sc 2, decrease around (9).
Sc around for 2 rounds.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Eyes (make 2):
With white yarn, chain 2 and work 6 sc in the second chain from hook.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
With black yarn and a tapestry needle, sew a small black circle in the center of each eye.
Assembly:
Sew the legs to the body.
Sew the eyes to the body, above the legs.
And there you have it! A cute little crochet frog.
How do you think it went?
(It doesn't really look like a frog. A for effort.)
